Shooter (2007, Antoine Fuqua )

The opening scene of this film starts with jumping stright into the shot wich indicated that the film is an action movie and onto the main character which in this case is shown to be a hero of the film, The opening shot is a two shot which shows us that the character is not alone, The sound effects at the start of the film indicate that the scene is shot near a busy road or motorway due to the loud traffic sounds, Also the way the characters are postioned shows that they are spying on somthing, the clue for this is the binoculars which are being used. The shot is also a close up to leave the viewers in that sence of

mystery and curiosity.

The next shot we see is a point of view shot wich establishes what the main character is looking at through the binoculars, this shws some sort of stage of which someone important is upon, The shot is at a high angle which indicates some vulnerability and shows their weakness.also this shot is an extreme long shot showing all of the characfters in the frame 

In the next shot this shows another over the shoulder shot but this time you can see the character expression and emotion about the image. also the shot type is a close up which can give away certain features about somone to distinct thir personality. The character in this shot is wearing a dark suit usually indicating power and authority or a sence of evil presence.

This shot is a two shot and shows the characters emotion and expressions due to the shot type also being a medium close up shot which also shows some of the body language of the characters but still leaves us in a sence of mystery in what is happening below and around the camera shot. Also with the choice of colour in the background shows another element of mystery on where and why the room is a dark gloomy looking room with the classic dangling american lights

This Last and final shot is an establishing shot which shows the viewers where abouts the scene is taking place and what the film is like, This shows also that it is filmed under a raised train line usually found in america and the oldern houses and battered sidewalk of which the character is protraied in an extreme long shot of which the background takes over more than the character does
